The Prismland Story
Thanks for taking an interest in covering Prismland!
The PrismPals of Prismland began as a plush toy concept conjured up by local Toronto artist, Jessica Chen. She then teamed up with her long-time friend Matthew Mayers to bring the brand to life. We set forth with one goal, to make math and geometry more fun for very young children. Our philosophy is, if we can help children positively associate our lovable characters with difficult concepts, maybe math and geometry won’t seem so difficult.
As we developed the brand, we determined that a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign would be the best option to fund mass production. In October of 2014, we successfully raised over $18,000 and moved forward with manufacturing.
We then began developing free downloads and resources for children to use in tandem with the PrismPals in a productive and educational way.
We began shipping the PrismPals in February 2016.
