James Nizam was born in Bedford, England and grew up throughout the Middle East. He studied at the University of British Columbia and, before moving to Berlin, spent the majority of his art practice working out of Vancouver. He creates marvelous light installations of grand scale and, like Prismland, appreciates shapes and geometry. For one of his notable projects, he made incisions in the structure of a house to capture and manipulate the sunlight into light sculptures. Here are some examples of his work:
